Jacqueline Roberts ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care - Baxter on Mar. 16, 2026.Jacqueline (Jackie) Louise Roberts, 78, of Baxter, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.Jackie was born on February 1, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Fred and Mary Wall. She grew up in the Altoona area, where she attended Southeast Polk Schools and graduated with the Class of 1966.From a young age, Jackie's strong work ethic and caring spirit shone through as she helped in her parents' restaurants. Those early years in a family business taught her the value of hard work, kindness, and serving others-lessons she carried with her throughout life. Later, Jackie worked in retail and went on to spend more than 20 years with Menards in Ankeny, where she was known for her reliability, creativity, and the joy she brought to both customers and coworkers. She fully retired in 2024.Jackie had a remarkable eye for beauty. As a talented artist, she loved decorating, drawing, and journaling. In her earlier years, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. She delighted in shopping for unique treasures, always finding ways to make her home warm and inviting. Above all, Jackie's deepest loves were her faith and her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren-celebrating their milestones and filling their lives with laughter and love. Her faith in Jesus guided her life, and her kindness, humor, and dramatic storytelling abilities touched everyone who knew her.Jackie is survived by her loving children, Renee (Jay) Cort of Davenport, Ryan (Christy) Roberts of Pleasant Hill, and Lindsay (Nick) Bethards of Baxter; her beloved grandchildren Taylor (Jamie) Cort, Mackenzie (Justin) Pethoud, Lucas Roberts, Jay Williams, Christian Roberts, Rylee Roberts, Cash Roberts, Reese Roberts, Gracie (Wade) Zahurones, Kinley (Justin) Bethards, Hudson Bethards, Hank Bethards, Addison Bethards, and Bella Bethards; and eight treasured great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lyne Wall, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Eric Roberts, her former husband Norman Roberts, and her two brothers, Richard Wall and Brian (Bud) Wall.Her family will remember her as a woman of grace, creativity, and endless love-a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose spirit will live on in the hearts she touched.A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at Townsend Community Center, 6615 NE 41st Ave., Altoona, IA.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
