Jacqueline M. Longeway, 81, of Kildeer, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on August 12, 1944, to Frederick and Norine Marski, she was raised on the North Side of Chicago and attended St. Alphonsus Elementary and Immaculata High School. She later studied at Loyola University and the Art Institute, where she nurtured her lifelong passions for theater, dance, and art.

A creative entrepreneur, Jacqueline became the buyer for Classic Sunglasses, traveling the world and purchasing more than one million pairs to supply stores throughout the Midwest. She also owned and operated several distinctive retail stores in Long Grove, Illinois, where she emerged as a beloved community leader. With her warmth and keen eye for charm, she curated inviting spaces that became local landmarks and reflections of her creative spirit.

Jacqueline’s dedication to Long Grove ran deep. She served as President and Events Committee Chairman of the Long Grove Merchants Association, playing a pivotal role in developing cherished traditions such as the Long Grove Chocolate Festival and the Strawberry Festival. Her efforts helped transform the village into a welcoming destination for families while preserving its historic character for generations to come.

She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Thomas Longeway; her cherished children, Jeanine Longeway (John Idzik) and Christopher (Karin) Longeway; her loving grandson, Benjamin Longeway; and her dear brother, James Marski.
