Jacqueline Corinne Jones Cousins

Jacqueline Corinne Jones Cousins passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026. Corinne, affectionately known as Jackie or Rinny, was born on February 26, 1946 in St. Joseph, Louisiana to Arthur Lamar Jones and Maggie Louise Jones.

She was the devoted wife of Michael “Mike” Cousins, Jr., a loving mother to Michael Cousins III and his wife Donna, and a cherished Grammie to her grandchildren Cameron Cousins and Shannon Cousins. Corinne graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1969 and spent many years teaching as an elementary educator at George Cox Elementary in Jefferson Parish. After retiring from teaching, she embraced her creative side through arts and crafts and became a passionate gardener. She earned the distinction of Master Gardener in both Louisiana and Alabama, where she and Mike settled to enjoy their retirement years together.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Elizabeth Jones, her brother Louis Jones, her sister Martha Jones Peters, her brother-in-law Max Henderson Peters Sr., and her beloved husband Mike. She leaves behind a lifetime of happy memories for her family and friends.
