Jacqueline "Fountain" Bucher

Jacqueline Bucher, 77, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on February 14, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy (Moses) Fountain, Sr.

On January 21, 2001, Jacqueline married the love of her life, James “Jim” Bucher, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jacqueline Denies Holiday, her grandmother Fannie White, her brother Leo Fountain Jr., her sisters Susan Fountain and Linda Fountain, her nephews Delano Groves, Jaron Groves Jr., and Harry Lockridge, and her nieces Javonda Tharbs and Starvell Causian.

Jacqueline graduated from Central High School and worked in the hospitality industry until her retirement. She found joy in cooking, playing cards, watching the ID Channel, being outdoors, dancing, listening to music, barbecues, and family gatherings. Artistic by nature, she loved to draw and had a remarkable talent for solving crossword puzzles quickly.

She is survived by her children Sharon Elizabeth Wilkes of South Bend, Indiana, Elviroy Holiday of Granger, Indiana, DeShawn Lax of Atlanta, Georgia, Olivia S. Kryconski, Jumpa V. Holiday, and Antony Ray Holiday of South Bend, Indiana; her siblings Yvonne (Clyde) Lewis, DeLeoris Fountain, Dorothy Tina Fountain, Gloria Fountain, and Evelyn, all of South Bend; her uncle Roy Mosley of Kentucky; her aunt Alica Martche of Cincinnati, Ohio; her niece Monica Fountain of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her grandchildren Tasarra N. Holiday, Princeton Lax, and Clifton V. Holiday of Warsaw, Indiana. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
