Jacob Greenwell ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home on Mar. 9, 2026.Jacob W. Greenwell, age 34, passed away on March 5, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1991, and lived a life marked by love, faith, hard work, and devotion to his family and community.Jacob was a loving husband, father, son, and friend who truly embraced life. He loved God deeply and read his Bible daily, often reminding those around him of the gratitude he carried in his heart by saying, "We are so blessed. So blessed." His faith guided his life and the way he treated others. Known for his intelligence and incredible ability to work with his hands, Jacob could build or fix almost anything he set his mind to. He was extremely curious throughout his entire life and approached each day with energy, determination, and a smile. Whether he was repairing something, starting a new project, or buying something to flip, Jacob thrived on creativity and hard work. Jacob owned and operated his own general contracting business and dreamed of one day owning every kind of business imaginable. His entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and dedication made him respected by many. Even as a young student, his teachers praised him for his leadership and ability to inspire those around him.One of Jacob's greatest accomplishments was starting and growing his farm, something he was incredibly proud of. The outdoors brought him pure happiness, from caring for animals to building projects around the property. His tractor became his "daily driver" around the farm, and he loved every moment spent working the land he had built. Above all, Jacob cherished his family. He and the love of his life, Shannon, were blessed with two sons. Becoming a father was one of the greatest blessings of his life. He was deeply involved in the homeschooling of his son Noah and looked forward to what he called their "Life Skill Days," where they worked side by side on projects and learned together. Building a treehouse with Noah and completing projects together were moments that meant the world to him. Jacob also loved preparing meals that nourished his family. He was a great cook who found joy in helping bring everyone together around the table. His laughter was often described as sounding like that of a joyful child that could brighten any room and reflected the pure happiness he carried within. He was a loyal and dependable friend who helped anyone in need. Jacob believed in standing up for good people and being there whenever someone needed help. To many, he was more than a friend, he was a brother. Jacob shared a special bond with his Pawpaw and lived each day striving to live up to the legacy set before him. His love extended to all the people and animals in his life, including his loyal dog, Judge, who was always close by. He was a best friend to so many who loved him, from his parents, siblings, wife, and children to his lifelong friend, Bilio Renfroe. Jacob was a leader, a provider, and a man whose heart was full of gratitude for everyone and everything in his life.Jacob W. Greenwell will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous spirit, his hardworking hands, and the love he gave so freely.
