Jacob W. Greenwell
October 14, 1991— March 5, 2026
Jacob W. Greenwell, age 34, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on October 14, 1991, Jacob lived a life defined by deep faith, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
A loving husband, father, son, and friend, Jacob embraced each day with gratitude, intelligence, and boundless energy. He read his Bible daily and often reminded those around him, “We are so blessed. So blessed.” His faith shaped how he treated others and guided every aspect of his life. Known for his remarkable ability to build or fix anything, Jacob was endlessly curious and creative. He owned and operated his own general contracting business, pursued entrepreneurial dreams, and took great pride in starting and growing his farm. The outdoors brought him pure joy, whether he was caring for animals, working the land, or driving his tractor around the property he had built with his own hands.
Above all, Jacob cherished his family. He and his wife Shannon were blessed with two sons, and he found profound purpose in fatherhood. He was deeply involved in homeschooling their son Noah and treasured their “Life Skill Days,” working side by side on projects and building memories together, including the treehouse they created. A gifted cook, he loved preparing meals that brought his family around the table. His laughter, often described as sounding like that of a joyful child, could brighten any room. Jacob was a loyal and dependable friend who stood ready to help anyone in need. To many he was more than a friend—he was a brother. He shared a special bond with his Pawpaw and lived each day striving to honor the legacy left before him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jimmy Ross and Carolyn Gay.
Jacob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shannon Greenwell; his sons, Noah and Aaron; his parents, Glenn and Laura Greenwell; his brother, Logan Greenwell; his sister, Sam Greenwell (Lee Wallace); his nephews, Amias Walker and Krue Wienbeck; his mother-in-law, Brandy Roesch; his sisters-in-law, McKayia Medlin, Hanna Roesch-Miller, Sara Rizzo, and Lacey Reid; his brother-in-law, Caleb Medlin; and his lifelong best friend, Bilio Renfroe. His legacy of faith, generosity, and love will live on in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
