Jacob Ryan Badenhop, age 34, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on November 14, 1991, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of James and Bonnie (King) Badenhop of Archbold.

Jacob graduated from Archbold High School in 2010, where he played football, wrestled, and competed in track and field, throwing the shot put and discus. He continued his athletic career at Capital University, earning a B.A. in Accounting in 2014. He went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer for Thrive Local in Upper Sandusky. A lifelong Lutheran, Jacob was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, where he served on the church council and played guitar in the worship band. He previously belonged to North Salem Lutheran Church, where he served on the cemetery committee. He spent many formative summers at Little Eden Camp in Onekama, Michigan.

He married Collyn Weaver on October 18, 2014, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Jacob found his greatest joy in time spent with his family. He shared many special outings with them, including Columbus Blue Jackets games, trips to Disney, and a shared goal of visiting all 50 states together. He also cherished farming alongside his father-in-law. Deeply committed to his community, he served as treasurer for the Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Boosters and worked enthusiastically to support and grow the businesses of downtown Upper Sandusky.

Jacob is survived by his wife, Collyn; daughters Brecklyn Rose and Nora Grace; parents James and Bonnie Badenhop; sister Keri (Luke) Andrews and their children Henry and Theo; in-laws Lyle and Lori Weaver; brothers-in-law Mason Weaver and Miles (Lana) Weaver and their children Harrison, Weston, and Quinn. He was a friend to all who knew him, and his kindness, warmth, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He loved his wife and daughters with his whole heart and will be forever loved and deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
