Jacob Garrett Cothern

Jacob Garrett Cothern of Waycross, Georgia, passed away on March 13, 2026 at the age of 35. He was preceded in death by his mother, Drucila Nettles, and his brother, Tyson Cothern. Jacob is survived by his father, E. D. Cothern (Kathy) of Waycross; his wife, Buffy Cothern of Waycross; his stepchildren, Elizabeth Anderson of Waycross and Michael Anderson II of Hoboken; his nieces and nephews, Emma Cothern, June Cothern, Eli Cothern, Braylon Cothern, and Grant Cothern; and his siblings-in-law, Randy Herrin (Monica) of Jesup and Ronda Ann (Buster) of Alma.

Those who knew Jacob will remember a man who lived with quiet strength and deep devotion to his family. He cherished his role as husband, son, stepfather, and uncle, building a life centered on the people he loved in the community that was always home to him. His presence brought steadiness and warmth to those closest to him, and the bonds he formed remain a lasting part of their lives.

Jacob’s memory will be carried forward by his wife Buffy, his father and stepmother, his stepchildren, his nieces and nephews, and the extended family who loved him.
