Jackie Lou Holladay, age 90, of Ruston, Louisiana, passed away on March 12, 2026. Born on May 4, 1935, in Monarch, Arkansas, to Glessie Jenkins Anderson and Alva Francis Anderson, she lived a life marked by dedication to education and deep devotion to her family.

Jackie spent more than 30 years teaching Physical Education at Louisiana Tech, where she inspired and encouraged countless students. She also taught at Tech Rome. An accomplished athlete in her youth, she attended the School of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri, and was named an All-State Basketball Player.

Beyond her career, Jackie found joy in sewing, cross-stitch, reading, and hunting for treasures at garage sales. She loved flower gardening and traveled extensively around the world. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring the time spent with her family, especially during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her nine siblings, Mildred, Betty Jo, Sue, Eileen, Neil, George, Ted, Billy, and Francis; and her grandson, Matthew David Pyle. Jackie is survived by her sons, Steve Pyle and his wife Milagro, and Larry Pyle; her grandchildren, Chris and Kelly Pyle, Jason and Samantha Pyle, Julia Pyle, Sintia Arias, Jennifer Arias and Chris Jett, and Stephany Arias; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of family, her dedication to teaching, and the many lives she touched.
