November 26, 1955— March 14, 2026
Columbia, TN
Jackie Ray Curry, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Born on November 26, 1955, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, Jackie was the son of the late Bobby Gene Curry and the late Jean Elliott Curry. At just 18 years old, he began his career selling vacuums door to door for Electrolux, demonstrating a strong work ethic early in life. He later went on to own and operate Hatcher Lane Vacuum, where he built lasting relationships within the community.
Jackie was a man of deep faith who read his Bible daily and lived out his beliefs through kindness and generosity. He had a servant’s heart and found great joy in helping others, often providing groceries to those in need. Above all, he cherished his family. He met his best friend and the love of his life, Connie Curry, at the age of 13, and they remained devoted to one another until her passing.
He is survived by his children, Brandi Pilkinton, Brandon Curry, Emily (Jon) Hord, and Matthew Curry; his sisters, Lynette (Dewayne) Sparkman and Joanna Council (Bob Phillip); brother, Jamie Curry; his grandchildren, Gunner (Claire) Pilkinton, Jack Curry, Kenley Butterworth, and Zoe Butterworth; his great-grandchildren, Abel Pilkinton and Carver Pilkinton; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steve Marshall; his son-in-law, Shannon Pilkinton; and the mother of his children, Connie Curry.
