Jack R. Hollans, age 78, of Muncie, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on December 9, 1947, in Morehead, Kentucky, to Lena Mae and Boone Hollans, he was preceded in death by both of his parents.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Linda (Puckett) Hollans. Jack is also survived by his children: Donna Marlatt (husband Lynn), Jacqueline Jaranowski (husband Brian), and Matt Hollans (wife Jennifer). He was a proud grandfather to Megan Marlatt, Blaine Marlatt, Jake Jaranowski, Jack Mason Jaranowski, Nicholas Jaranowski, and Willow Hollans, and great-grandfather to Waylon Riddle. His grandchildren and great-grandchild brought him much joy.

A member of the first graduating class of Southside High School in 1965, Jack was later drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country as a Military Police officer, stationed in Thailand and other locations around the world. A proud veteran, he remained deeply committed to supporting charities that helped fellow veterans.

For many years Jack was a hardworking and well-known business owner in the Muncie community, operating JR’s Video and Ro-Jac’s Tavern, where he formed many lasting friendships. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan who cherished attending home openers with his family and never missed a game on television. He also held a special place in his heart for Lake Barbee, where he and Linda spent many peaceful days fishing and enjoying time together.

Jack will be remembered for his deep love of family, his pride in his country, his dedication to his work, and the many warm memories he created with those who knew and loved him. In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated and a private family celebration of life was held at the lake he cherished.
