Jack Martin Grier, 95, of Chandler, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Longview, Texas. Born on January 6, 1931, in Chandler to Harvey Tilton Grier and Audie Ona (Murphree) Grier, Jack lived a life marked by quiet faithfulness, hard work, and a generous spirit.
A longtime member of South Main Church of Christ, he dedicated more than 36 years to Trane Air Conditioning. Jack found deep enjoyment in the outdoors, particularly fishing, hunting, and camping. He was an active member of the Airstream Trailer Club and loved to travel. One of his greatest pleasures was baking cakes and pies, which he happily shared with friends during his many visits. His kindness, generosity, and warm presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bobbie Jo Grier; his brothers, Mordan T. “Mutt” Grier, Harvey T. “Jr.” Grier, and Harold Grier; and his son, Jackie Thomas Grier.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Penny (Grier) Strong and her husband James; his grandchildren, Joshua Spivey, Jenny Belflower, Jacob Spivey and wife Bailee, Amanda Shiyou and husband Brandon, and James Strong, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Spivey, Brandon Strong, Teegan Belflower, Cambry Spivey, Cheslee Spivey, Bryson Strong, Taylor Belflower, Blake Strong, Ruby Strong, Cash Spivey, and Renlee Spivey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
