Jack H. Ward

1947 — 2026

Concord, NC

Jack H. Ward of Concord, North Carolina, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on August 4, 1947, Jack lived a life shaped by resilience, service, and deep devotion to faith and family.

In 1967, he became a U.S. Navy Corpsman, serving alongside the Marines during the Vietnam War. Known affectionately as “Doc,” he carried that spirit of service throughout his life. In 1975, he married Karen, and together they raised two children. Jack held many leadership roles in the American Legion, serving as North Carolina American Legion Riders Director and as Commander for multiple posts. He remained steadfastly committed to his fellow veterans and to his country.

Above all, Jack was a devoted husband of 50 years, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. He found joy in fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, traveling, and riding his Harley Davidson. He lived by the belief that life is measured by the love we share and the difference we make in the lives of others.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Joy Ward; his children, Christopher Alan Ward and his wife Stephanie Fox Ward of Concord, and Stephanie Ward Dellinger and her husband Jeremy Shane Dellinger of Waxhaw; and his grandchildren, Ellie Ward, Ayden, Asher, Addie, and Annie Dellinger.
