December 12, 1950— March 12, 2026
Metter, GA
Jack Edmond Daniel, born December 12, 1950, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by family after a period of declining health.
Jack was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who truly never met a stranger. Known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and love for people, he had a special way of making everyone feel welcome. If you talked with him for even a few minutes, you likely walked away feeling like you had known him your whole life. He attended Metter High School where he was known as Mr. Metterite, recognized early for his personality, his ability to connect with others, and the many friendships he formed. Jack had a deep love for music. In high school he played the drums in a band called the Night Riders with his cousin Jimmy Hensley, and music remained a joy throughout his life.
He lived a life full of stories and experiences. During his younger years he lived in Italy, where he worked for Monk and learned to speak Italian, experiences that became some of his favorite stories to tell. Over the years Jack worked in several fields, including selling cars, a role that suited his natural ability to connect with people. He also owned Jack’s Store, which became more than a business; it was a gathering place where people shared stories and enjoyed one another’s company. Jack loved music, movies, good food, and spending time with family and friends. Many will remember the Christmas Eve parties he hosted each year, filled with laughter, food, and fellowship.
Cooking was another way Jack showed love to those around him. Between him and his mother, they created many warm memories in the kitchen. He was especially known for his barbecue and his Rooter’s BBQ sauce, which brought enjoyment to many over the years. Above all, Jack loved his family. He was a devoted father and proud grandfather who cherished his children and grandchildren deeply. His gentle nature, patience, and kindness touched everyone who knew him. Jack will be remembered for his warmth, his stories, his cooking, and the way he brought people together.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Hensley Daniel, his father Blitch Parrish Daniel, and his sister Valerie Daniel.
Jack is survived by his children, Brandy Snell and husband Steven and Jack Avery Daniel and fiancée Lucy Battle; his grandchildren, Hudson and Harrison Snell; his brother, Malcolm Daniel; his brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Mary Ellen Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.
