With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jack E Lowdermilk of Waynesville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lowdermilk and Dora Stines Lowdermilk; and his siblings, Wanda Buff, Jeanette Higgins and Donald Lowdermilk.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Green Lowdermilk; his daughter Deanna Hughes (David); his stepdaughter Marty Buchanan; his sons, Chris Lowdermilk (Tammy), Kent Lowdermilk (Cathy) and Steve Lowdermilk (Amy); his stepsons, Maurice Chambers, Tim Chambers (Angie) and Bryan Chambers (Lesa); and his brother Larry Lowdermilk. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville (296 N Main St, Waynesville, NC 28786). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
