Jack Beiter

Jack Beiter, 86, of Berwick, passed away on March 8, 2026, at his home. Born on September 26, 1939, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stanley and Kate (DeBach) Beiter.

A graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1957, Jack attended Bloomsburg University. He worked as a bus driver for Greyhound for thirty years and later served as Operations Manager for Motor Transportations in Hazleton for twenty years. He was a longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Berwick and the Knapp Lodge 462 F & AM. Jack found great joy in collecting buses, attending car shows, and caring for animals.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky (Honse) Beiter; his daughter, Kimberly Witchey; his son, John Raymond Beiter; and his sister, Donna Gaito.

Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy “Nance” Bass; his son, Scott Turner of Berwick; daughters Emily Beiter Flick and her wife, Kelsey, of Berwick, and Rebecca of Drums; four grandchildren, Josh, Janae, Jace, and Ava; two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Olivia; brothers Stanley Beiter of Hershey and Bob Beiter and his wife, Cindy, of Berwick; and sisters Marsha Kacyson of Apex, North Carolina, and Sharon McMurtrie and her husband, Dave, of Berwick.
