J. Gordon Pasley

J. Gordon Pasley, age 85, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 5, 2026 in the Good Samaritan Home. He was born on July 8, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa to James and Ruth (Shoup) Pasley. He was a graduate of Community R6 High School in Laddonia, MO. He received his Bachelors from Truman State and his Masters from Utah State. He married Margaret Becker on August 12, 1961. She survives. Mr. Pasley was a retired educator for the Quincy Public Schools. Gordon was also widely known for the many years he worked at Westview Golf Course.He was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He loved to do genealogy on his family. He travelled to numerous historical places and monuments. He also greatly loved attending his grandchildren's activities.In addition to his wife, Gordon is also survived by:CHILDREN: Kevin Pasley (Lara Biddinger) of Reno, NV; Annette Bruns (Michael) of Quincy; Alan Pasley (Tracy) of Springfield, IL.DAUGHTER IN LAW: Sara Pasley Hartl-Bosworth and her husband Mike of Galesburg, IL.GRANDCHILDREN: Zachary Pasley (Justin Smith), Anthony Bruns (Shayla), Erin Pasley, Elise Hanafin (Gabe), Erica Pasley, Emeri Pasley, Emily Pasley and Anna Pasley.GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Oliver, Mia, Catalina, Adonis, Gracelyn, Blaine, Ezra and Zelie.SILBINGS: Brent Pasley (Cindy) and Wilda Haas (Jim)SISTER-IN-LAW: Cherry Pasley.Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, a son Michael Pasley and a brother Bruce Pasley.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 12:00 Noon at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at 12:00 Noon. Memorials may be made to the 'On This Rock' Capital Building Campaign at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
