He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Eugene Letner Sr. and Esther Lovedy Hammer; and his daughter Shelly Ann Letner Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ayers Letner of Earlysville; his daughter Kara Letner Wood (Samuel Wood) of Mechanicsville; his stepchildren, Catherine Garrison (Vincent Garrison) of Stanardsville and John Falls (Darren Troxler) of Millsboro; and his sister Lovedy Ann Papproth of Orange, Virginia.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home - Charlottesville Chapel (201 1st St N, Charlottesville, VA 22902). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Monticello Memory Gardens (670 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22902).
Donations may be made in Ivan's honor to the Elks Lodge #389 or the S.P.C.A. of Charlottesville, Virginia.
