Ivan Eugene Letner Jr. of Earlysville passed away at home on March 4, 2026. Born on February 6, 1943, in Washington, DC, Ivan was a dedicated prosthetist and the owner of Old Dominion Prosthetics and Orthotics in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He attended the University of Chicago and New York University and was a longtime member of the Masons-Widow Sons Lodge #60 and the Elks Lodge #389 of Charlottesville. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Eugene Letner Sr. and Esther Lovedy Hammer, and by his daughter, Shelly Ann Letner Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ayers Letner of Earlysville; his daughter, Kara Letner Wood and her husband Samuel Wood of Mechanicsville, Virginia; his step-daughter, Catherine Garrison and her husband Vincent Garrison of Stanardsville, Virginia; his step-son, John Falls and his partner Darren Troxler of Millsboro, Delaware; and his sister, Lovedy Ann Papproth of Orange, Virginia. Ivan was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, and he is also survived by a niece and nephew.
