Ivan Dean Minteer

Ivan Dean Minteer, 89, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born December 21, 1936, in Aledo, Illinois, he was the son of Earnest C. Minteer and Mona Long. He graduated from Winola High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959 as Private 1st Class aboard the USS Graffias and USS Cimarron. He later enjoyed a long career with State Farm Insurance Company as a Claims Superintendent for 25 years.

Dean married Shirleen Ann Stuehm on August 21, 1959; they later divorced. In 1984 he married Elaine Fawcett, who preceded him in death in 1991. He cherished time spent on the golf course, especially during trips to Florida with family and friends. He also loved attending auctions and estate sales, often spending weekends searching for hidden treasures that he proudly brought home. A devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, he rarely missed a chance to watch his favorite team play.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda Renee Williams; brothers Larry and Ronald Minteer; half-brothers Elwood and Maynard Minteer; and half-sister Darlene Needham. Survivors include his sons Gregory (Chris) Minteer, Michael (Tracey) Minteer, and Scott (Brooke) Minteer; grandchildren Courtney Weimer, Alisha Rosse, Andrea Bell, Grace Minteer, and Sam Minteer; and former wife Shirleen Brackevelt.
