December 23, 2016— March 9, 2026
Washington, IL
Isabella Marie Moore, 9, of Washington, passed away on March 9, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Born on December 23, 2016, in Peoria, she was the youngest child of Jared R. and Evita A. (Garnett) Moore. Isabella defied the odds from the beginning, proving through her resilient life that every child with Trisomy 18 is compatible with life. She became an inspiration to all who knew her, facing countless challenges with quiet strength while teaching those around her about the profound value of every moment.
She is survived by her loving parents; her siblings, Savannah, Connor, Aidan, and Sean, who were always eager to help care for her; her grandparents, Gerald and Rita Moore and Gary “Bill” and Caroline Garnett; her aunts and uncles, William “Darren” Moore (Eva), Gabe Garnett (Sarah Tuxhorn), Seth Garnett (Cora), Ana Till (Nick), Alicia Brown (Clayton), and Franklin Garnett; and her cousins, Jenna, Jake, Mia, Ari, Corbin, Mason, Owen, Carson, Theo, Noelle, and baby boy Garnett, arriving in August 2026, along with many extended family members.
Isabella cherished being with her family most of all. She loved attending her siblings’ band concerts, basketball, soccer, and baseball games, lighting up at the sight of them and often reaching to touch their faces or playfully pouting when they had been away too long. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sassy spirit, her signature “trisomy arm” poses, the way she could sleep through therapy only to wake the moment the car headed home, and her delighted laughter when her siblings got in trouble. Her playful whacks to the face, followed by the biggest smile, were her special way of showing love. Her family, especially her mother and siblings who cared for her at home, and her father who worked hard to support them all, made sure she was never alone, surrounding her with constant love and presence during every hospital stay and at home. She will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of those she left behind.
