Odessa, TX

Irma Salgado Zubia passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Odessa, Texas. Born on May 19, 1953, in Ojinaga, Mexico, she lived a life defined by her deep devotion to family and her ability to find joy in life’s simple moments.

A devoted wife, Irma is survived by her loving husband, Juan Zubia. Together they created a home filled with laughter, music, and the warmth of a large family. She was the guiding heart for her children, Juan Zubia Jr., Joel Zubia, Romelia Villasona, Luz Maria Sanchez, Alma Leyva, Oralia Grado, and Irma Sanchez, teaching them the values of compassion, care, and the enduring strength of family bonds. Her legacy continues through her eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons and memories she gave them.

Irma shared a close and loving relationship with her siblings: brothers Luis, Reynaldo, and Matias Salgado, and sisters Maria Elena Zubia, Soila Gabaldon, Martha Salgado, Maria Salazar, and Rosa Salgado. To her family she was the steady presence that held them together, offering quiet strength and unconditional love. Though her passing leaves a deep void, they find comfort knowing she has been reunited with her children Javier Zubia, Jesus Sanchez Jr., and Alma Delia Sanchez, who preceded her in death.

From a young age, Irma embraced the role of caretaker, mastering the arts of cooking, cleaning, and sewing to nurture those around her. Whether seen as a free spirit whose laughter and dancing brought light to every room, or as a calm and steady anchor in difficult times, she remained, above all, a woman of kindness whose heart offered love without limit.
