Irene Judith "Judy" Rasmussen

Irene Judith “Judy” Rasmussen, 88, of International Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Rainy Lake Medical Center.

Born in International Falls on November 19, 1937, to Charles and Winifred (Lund) Hanson, Judy was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished. She married Martin “Bud” Rasmussen on August 24, 1957, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, beginning a marriage that spanned more than six decades. Judy found quiet joy in tending her garden and spending peaceful days at the family shack. A devoted member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge, she lived a life rooted in faith, family, and simple pleasures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Winifred Hanson; her husband, Martin “Bud” Rasmussen; her son, Timothy Rasmussen; her sisters, Sally Laurent and Izzy Wagner; and her granddaughter, Ayrica Harris.

Judy is survived by her son, Marty (Gina) Rasmussen; her daughters, Shelley (Scott) Peterson, Debbie (Rocky) Kucera, Pam (Al) Covel, and Penny (Dan) Harris; her grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie, Tyler, Logan (Layla), Katie, Brittany (Tyler), Molly (Maverick), McKenna (Jackson), Morgan (Shane), Ayden, and William (Toni); and twelve great-grandchildren. Her family will carry forward the love and memories she so generously shared throughout her life.
