Irene Annette Seadale, née Avinger, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 28, 1943, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, she grew up in Vance and graduated from Holly Hill High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston and a Master of Education from The Citadel. She worked as a licensed social worker and later as a family counselor.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ira D. Avinger and Mona Newton Avinger, and her husband, Vincent Seadale, Irene is survived by her sons, Carl Dean Mullinax Jr. and his wife Mary Anna, and Brian David Mullinax and his wife Meredith Gibson; her grandchildren, Rachel Baio and her husband Craig, Joshua Mullinax and his wife Bethany Carron, and Delmy Mullinax; her great-grandchild, Harvey Michael Mullinax; her sister, Linda Avinger West; and her brother, Dee Avinger and his wife Betty.
Irene loved to sew, clog, and square dance, and she found great joy in playing the piano. A talented artist and painter, she brought beauty and creativity to those around her. She will be remembered for the full life she lived and the deep love she held for her family.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her love lives on in the family she cherished.
