Ira Bruce Chapman

Ira Bruce Chapman, age 62, of Dobson, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his residence. Born on January 13, 1964, in Man, West Virginia, to the late Thomas Chapman and the late Sylvia Brewster Chapman, Bruce was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He built a life through his work constructing log homes and as a steel worker, earning the respect of those who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Snow Chapman; his stepdaughter, Rashelle Nichole Shores, and her husband, Adam; his grandchildren, Kate Shores and Riley Shores; his sisters, Lynn Blankenship and her husband, Curtis, and Tomi Serfass and her husband, Thomas; and his brothers, Timothy Chapman and Terry Chapman. Many nieces and nephews, along with a close circle of family and friends, will miss him dearly, as will his faithful four-legged companion, Brandi.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sisters, Sylvia Cruz and Patricia Anderson, and his brothers, David Chapman, Thomas Chapman Jr., Virgil Ball, and Raymond Brown.
