August 12, 1944— March 11, 2026
Portsmouth, RI
Ingrid E. (Luderer) Fogg, 81, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Erich and Gertrude (Weck) Luderer, she was their only child and embraced life with remarkable energy from the start.
She graduated from Springfield High School of Commerce in 1962 and earned her nursing degree from The Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. Ingrid devoted nearly forty years to postpartum and newborn nursery care, first at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, and later at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She was often among the first to welcome new lives into the world, bringing skill and compassion to the families she served.
On April 20, 1968, she married George H. Fogg, who predeceased her. Together they created a loving family that remained the heart of her world. She is survived by her son, Erich Fogg and his wife Kris, and their daughter Gabby; and her daughter, Sarah Matarese and her husband David, and their children Ryan and Bella. She loved them all with a fierce and unwavering devotion.
Ingrid was known for her tireless work ethic, quiet determination, and mental fortitude, qualities that helped her face life’s challenges on her own terms. She cultivated deep and lasting friendships across the years, staying connected through regular calls, shared meals at favorite restaurants, and travels near and far. In her quieter moments she found joy in her kitchen, preparing beloved Ina Garten recipes and gathering loved ones around a table filled with good food and laughter, often with a cosmo in hand.
