Inge D. Gordy

Inge D. Gordy, lovingly known as “Oma,” passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Austell, Georgia, at the age of 97. Born on February 24, 1929, in Germany, she lived a long and meaningful life centered around family, love, and the simple joys that made each day special. With a vibrant spirit and a deep appreciation for time spent with those she loved, Inge brought warmth and strength to everyone around her.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking for her family, shopping, and gathering with family and friends at German picnics. Inge especially loved German music, crocheting, and relaxing while watching the Game Show Network. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished teaching her grandkids and great-grandkids how to speak curse words in German, and every moment spent together was treasured.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Gordy, and her son, Paul Gordy. Inge is survived by her children, Rose Pitts (David Pitts) and Kenny Gordy (Candi Gordy), daughter-in-law Lori Gordy, 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory and love with them always.
