Inez Sydow

Inez Sydow of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, she grew up in South Florida and graduated from Lake Worth High School in Lake Worth, Florida. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from George Peabody College for Teachers, now part of Vanderbilt University, and later received a Master’s Degree in Education from Georgia State University.

Inez devoted much of her career to education, working for many years as a reading specialist in the DeKalb County School System, primarily at Fernbank Elementary School and Panola Way Elementary School. She was known for her dedication to helping children develop a love of reading and learning.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Kazin; her children, Michael and Sarah; her daughter-in-law, Sally; her son-in-law, Josh; her grandchildren, Summer, Rhett, Jade, and Juliet; and her brother, Bill. Her family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from Kay Coppage, the staff at The Orchard at Brookhaven, and the team at Capstone Hospice.
