December 14, 1936— March 3, 2026
Cecelia, LA
Ida Mae Noel, aged 89, of Cecelia, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 3, 2026. Born on December 14, 1936, in Cecelia, she was the daughter of the late Marie Sam and Willis Davis. Ida attended school in Beaumont and devoted 28 years of her life to caring for others as a CNA at Charity Hospital. With her gentle touch and warm smile, she brought comfort to countless patients and earned the deep respect and affection of her colleagues and those in her care.
In 1951, Ida married the love of her life, John Wilbert Noel Sr. Together they built a warm and loving home, raising six children in an atmosphere filled with laughter, care, and strong family bonds. To her children she was both loving and fair, teaching them the importance of faith, values, and staying close to one another. She found great joy in cooking for her family, sharing stories, offering wisdom, and creating a welcoming space where everyone felt loved and supported. Her kindness, strength, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Ida’s faith in God was the steady foundation of her life. She lived by the power of prayer and trusted in God through every season, passing that same deep faith to her children. She reminded them often that no problem was too big for God and that prayer could carry them through anything.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, John Wilbert Noel Sr.; her children Peggy Ann Daigle (Allen), Jill Marie Lewis (Bradley), John Wilbert Noel Jr. (Jo), Elinus Paul Noel Sr., Rickey Martin Noel Sr. (Patrisha), and Lisa Marie Noel (Doyle); grandchildren Natrisha, Tonya, Nyeika, Keion, Rickey Jr., Nicole, Latoya, Elinus Jr., Rickelle, and Chelsea; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Sandra Johnson, Teresa Davis, and Linda Davis Burrell, her brothers Jesse Davis and Wilbur Davis, her cousin Harold Alexander, her grandson John Wilbert Noel III, her great-grandchild Jasiyah Gibson, and several aunts and uncles.
Ida will be remembered as the heart of her family, the one who held everyone together with her love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her strength, faith, and legacy will live on through all those she cherished.
