Unke, 94, of Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Our House Senior Living while under the care of St. Croix Hospice.She was born May 6, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Carl and Marcella (Hartling) Unverrich.On February 6, 1954, she married Robert Unke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls. After their marriage, they resided in Milwaukee and then Menomonee Falls. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1969.Ida was well known for her incredible baking skills and love of anything strawberry. She was employed at Welders Supply in Eau Claire prior to her retirement. Ida enjoyed reading, knitting, and playing cards with friends.Ida is survived by her daughter, Susan Unke (Allen Kiesow) of Bloomer; son, Steve Unke of Hobe Sound, FL; grandchildren, Peter (Mary) McCann, Melissa Unke, and Phillip Unke;She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brothers, Donald and Eugene Unverrich.A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 14 at English Lutheran Church of Bateman, 20588 County Hwy X, Chippewa Falls with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. at the church. Rev. Justin Arnold will be officiating.Interment will be in Bateman Cemetery in the town of Lafayette.The family thanks and appreciates the wonderful care provided to Ida by Our House and St. Croix Hospice.Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, Chippewa Falls is serving the family.
