Ida Irlene Martin

1950 — 2026

Stroud, OK

Ida Irlene Martin was born on June 1, 1950, in Okemah, Oklahoma, to Beulah and Mitchell Martin of Paden, Oklahoma. Born into a family of ten, she was the third child. Growing up in a large family where love, strength, and resilience were part of everyday life that helped shape her unique personality and the memorable presence she had in all our lives.

Irlene was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Mitchell Martin, as well as her brothers Frank Martin and Gordon Martin, and her sister Laverne Podest.

She is survived by her son, Charlie Wallis of Stroud, Oklahoma, and her daughter, Kinda Leupold, and son-in-law, Brian Leupold, of West Lawn, Pennsylvania. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren: Levi, Logan, Brianna, Brody, and Tayven, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.

Irlene is also survived by her beloved siblings Linda Arthur; Doris and Gary Cordell; Bobby and Regina Martin; Robert and Rhonda Martin; David and Joy Martin; and Tony and Melissa Martin and by the numerous nieces and nephews she cherished. Family was always at the center of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Throughout her life, Irlene was bold, spirited, and unforgettable. She lived her life on her own terms, embraced her joys and her challenges, and made an impression on everyone she met in her own unforgettable, one-of-a-kind way.

Though it is painful to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that the love Irlene shared with her family and friends does not end here. It lives on in the stories we tell, the lessons she taught, and the unique memories we hold close in our hearts.

Irlene was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. May her memory continue to bring comfort, warmth, and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
