Huy Kok ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Jeter & Son Funeral Home - Dallas on Mar. 10, 2026.Huy KokApril 10, 1953 ~ March 3, 2026Huy Kok, born April 10, 1952, in Kampong Speu, Cambodia, lived a life marked by resilience, humility, and a quiet dedication to learning.The eldest of nine children, he spent nine years studying in a monastery during his youth. In 1973, he was accepted into a highly competitive midwifery nursing program, ranking 24th out of 1,500 applicants before civil unrest interrupted his studies in 1975. He survived the hardships of war, concentration camps, and the Khmer Rouge era.In 1978, while volunteering at Srah Srang Hospital in Thailand with the Red Cross, he met the woman who would become his wife. Together, in the early 1980s, they built a new life in the United States.He worked at Winzer and as a prep cook at a French restaurant before spending nearly three decades supporting the Dallas Juvenile Detention Center.
