Hunter Coxwell Ramsey, 19, of Blountstown, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Tallahassee, Florida, he was adopted at the age of two by Dr. Andrew Boggs Ramsey and Eloise Stanley Ramsey.
Hunter was an honor graduate of Blountstown High School, Class of 2025, where he was a member of Beta, FCA, and the BHS choir. He played football and basketball for the Tigers and was a student at Chipola College at the time of his passing. He worked at Ace Hardware in Bristol and previously at Ramsey’s Cashsaver in Blountstown during high school. Hunter found joy in fishing, gaming, and playing basketball at the park with his friends. Known for his bright smile and playful sense of humor, he loved people and was deeply loved in return. He carried what his family affectionately called the “Andrew and Wisa” gene. A person of strong faith, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Blountstown and also attended Rivertown Community Church and Bristol Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Hunter was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Dr. Andrew Boggs Ramsey and Eloise Stanley Ramsey, his biological father Drew Ramsey, brothers Boggs and James Ramsey, grandfather Marshall Ramsey, and great-grandparents Buster and Tish Peddie.
He is survived by his second set of parents, Michael and Rebecca DeVuyst; grandparents Jerry and Rhonda Lewis, Buddy Coxwell, Richard and Sue Ramsey, and Maryann DeVuyst; siblings Alexis DeVuyst, Abby Curvin (Jeremy), Izabella, Emilio, Jayden, and Trinity DeVuyst, Jaryn Ramsey, and Braden Swearington; aunt Dayna (Dusty) Barber; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will carry his memory in their hearts.
