Woodring III, 66, of Jersey Shore, passed away at the Gatehouse on March 7, 2026 following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.He was born in Williamsport on April 3, 1959, a son of Hughey Woodring Jr. and Margaret J. (Engel) Woodring.Hughey retired in 2021 after 35 years with Nova Construction as a commercial roofing installer. An outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, mushroom foraging and fishing. He was a member of Split Brow Hunting Club in Malta, OH. He was always willing to lend a hand, and was incredibly mechanically inclined. His family was the most important part of his life.He and his wife, the former Elaine M. Fortney, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on August 13, 2025.Surviving in addition to his mother of Williamsport and wife, are his sons, Hughey L. Woodring IV of Blanchard, Brett (Amanda) Woodring of Jersey Shore, and daughter, Lauren Woodring of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Elijah Woodring, Romee Woodring, and Jager Woodring; siblings, Steven E. (Teresa) Woodring of Williamsport, and Linda L.
