Hugh Lee Bowen

Hugh Lee Bowen of Toccoa, Georgia, formerly of Conyers, Georgia, passed away at the age of 81. After proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, he dedicated 45 years to the Atlanta Police Department. A lifelong gardener and beekeeper, Hugh cherished the outdoors and found great joy in tending to his garden and caring for his bees.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Turner Bowen; sons Richard Bowen of Statham, Georgia, and Michael Bowen of Madison, Georgia; daughters Angela Bowen Smith of Statham, Georgia, and Katie Bowen Carter of Ringgold, Georgia; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of this humble Marine.
