Hubert Delon Mills

Hubert Delon Mills, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his residence in Wewahitchka, Florida. Born on November 22, 1938, in Jay, Florida, he spent the majority of his life in Hampton, Georgia, before relocating to Florida six years ago.

Hubert worked for many years at General Motors as a Relief Man. His exceptional versatility enabled him to step into any role at any time, ensuring operations ran smoothly under any circumstance. As a young man, he served in the National Guard. He approached life with a sense of curiosity and a passion for tinkering, able to fix almost anything and get it running again. He found quiet satisfaction in simple tasks such as cutting grass and, in recent years, enjoyed fishing.

Hubert is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Equilla Jean Mills, of Wewahitchka, Florida; a son, David Mills and wife Pamela of Eastpoint, Florida; one brother, Vernon Mills of Columbus, Georgia; one adopted son, Johnny Urspach of Jackson, Georgia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Mills and Eunice Velma Farmer Mills, two sons, Billy Dewayne Mills and Richard Emmett Mills, and six siblings, Michael, Harold, Lamar, Ola Mae, Wayne, and Cindy.
