Hubaldina Lopez, 73, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on March 6, 2026, in the presence of her beloved family.

The family will receive guests at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Rosary will begin at 6 pm. A Liturgical funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10 am in the funeral home's Chapel of Angels. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.

Hubaldina Lopez “Nina”, also known as “nana” to her loved ones, was born Sunday May 4th, 1952, to Leonor and Gregorio Diaz. She was the 5th child of 9 (living siblings: Maria, Octavio, Manuel D., Hortencia (tencha), Graciela (chela), and Hector-Porfirio (pilo).

In 1971 she had her 1st child, Leonor, who blessed her with 2 grandchildren: Greggy and Jenny. Before Nina’s passing Jenny gave her the news she would be adding another great grandchild to the list.

December 28th, 1971, Nina married her childhood friend, Manuel Lopez. Together they had two sons Eloy and Manuel Candido (deceased); 4 grandkids Jessica, Cindy, Manuel Angel, and Edgar; 3 great granddaughters Athena, Roxy, and Stella; and 67 nieces and nephews.

Nina was a loving and caring daughter, sister, and aunt. She was the Perfect God sent wife, mom and nana. Brave, fierce yet gentle, patient, calm, with a heart of gold. She wasn’t afraid to stand up for her loved ones, always stood her ground. A kind soul, God loving, and a ray of sun.

She was a hard worker. From the young age of 14 she worked as a nanny, fashion designer, seamstress, harvester, a merchant, business owner, but most importantly as a homemaker and full-time mom.

Nina and Manuel worked in many states looking for their forever home. From Mexico to Arizona, Washington, Colorado, to Nebraska, but ultimately ended up making Amarillo, Texas their forever home. Nina filled their home with the purest love. In that home they raised their three grandchildren, Jessica, Cindy, and Edgar. In that same home she helped take care of and teach her great granddaughters Athena and Roxy. She was the mom God knew her grandkids needed. She didn’t take that responsibility lightly, after all being a mom was her favorite job she’s had. After the kids all left home she would spend every day with her husband. They ran all errands together; she helped him with work and kept him on track. They spent every day together until her last.

Nina passed away in her home at 11:11 am on March 6th, 2026. Leading up to her passing, she was visited everyday by loved ones, and in her last moments cared for until her final breath. She will live forever in the memories of those who knew and loved her.

Hubaldina López, de 73 años y residente de Amarillo, falleció pacíficamente el 6 de marzo de 2026 en presencia de su querida familia.

La familia recibirá a sus invitados en la Funeraria Angel, ubicada en 2209 S. Arthur, el jueves 12 de marzo de 2026, de 16:00 a 18:00 h. El rosario comenzará a las 18:00 h. El servicio litúrgico se celebrará el viernes 13 de marzo de 2026 a las 10:00 h en la Capilla de los Ángeles de la funeraria. El entierro se realizará posteriormente en el Cementerio Llano.

Hubaldina López “Nina”, también conocida como “nana” por sus seres queridos, nació el domingo 4 de mayo de 1952, hija de Leonor y Gregorio Díaz. Fue la quinta hija de nueve hermanos (vivos: María, Octavio, Manuel D., Hortencia (tencha), Graciela (chela) y Héctor-Porfirio (pilo).

En 1971 tuvo a su primera hija, Leonor, quien la bendijo con dos nietos: Greggy y Jenny. Antes de su fallecimiento, Jenny le dio la noticia de que añadiría otro bisnieto a la lista.

El 28 de diciembre de 1971, Nina se casó con su amigo de la infancia, Manuel López. Juntos tuvieron dos hijos, Eloy y Manuel Cándido (fallecido); cuatro nietos: Jessica, Cindy, Manuel Ángel y Edgar; tres bisnietas: Athenea, Roxy y Stella; y 67 sobrinos y sobrinas.

Nina era una hija, hermana y tía amorosa y cariñosa. Era la esposa, madre y abuela perfecta que Dios envió. Valiente, feroz pero gentil, paciente, tranquila, con un corazón de Oro. No temía defender a sus seres queridos, siempre se mantuvo firme. Un alma bondadosa, amante de Dios y un rayo de sol.

Era muy trabajadora. Desde los 14 años trabajó como niñera, diseñadora de moda, costurera, recolectora, comerciante, dueña de un negocio, pero sobre todo, como ama de casa y madre a tiempo completo.

Nina y Manuel trabajaron en muchos estados buscando su hogar definitivo. Desde México hasta Arizona, Washington, Colorado y Nebraska, pero finalmente decidieron establecerse en Amarillo, Texas. Nina llenó su hogar del amor más puro. En ese hogar criaron a sus tres nietos: Jessica, Cindy y Edgar. En ese mismo hogar ayudó a cuidar y educar a sus bisnietas, Athena y Roxy. Era la madre que Dios sabía que sus nietos necesitaban. No se tomaba esa responsabilidad a la ligera; después de todo, ser madre era su trabajo favorito. Después de que los niños se fueran de casa, pasaba todos los días con su esposo. Hacían todos los recados juntos; ella lo ayudaba. Con el trabajo y lo mantuvo enfocado. Pasaron cada día juntos hasta el último.

Nina falleció en su casa a las 11:11 a. m. del 6 de marzo de 2026. Antes de su fallecimiento, sus seres queridos la visitaron a diario y, en sus últimos momentos, la cuidaron hasta su último aliento. Vivirá para siempre en la memoria de quienes la conocieron y amaron.
