Howard Sandler

Howard Sandler, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 98 on March 14, 2026.

A man of remarkable resilience, Howard lived through the Great Depression, the COVID-19 pandemic, and what he called his own “personal war”—the loss of his cherished wife, Paula. The thought that they are now reunited brings his family a measure of peace. Known for being loving, caring, and beautifully stubborn, Howard left a lasting impression across generations. His great-grandson remembered him as “very wise,” and many will recall him as the most active grandfather, offering swimming lessons, golf cart rides, and sharing his famous Mandel brot and delicious barbecue sauce. He also built a successful Avon business.

He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his daughter Susan Donner and her husband Philip; his son Ronald Sandler; his grandchildren Rachel, Nicholas, Alexandra, Jessica, Michael, and Mathew; and his great-grandchildren Oliver, Jonah, Emery, Jacqueline, Kyler, Penelope, and Hunter.

Howard will be forever missed by all who knew him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is in heaven with his loved ones, watching over them and continuing to offer his protection from above.
