Howard K. Waller

Howard K. Waller

November 11, 1955 March 15, 2026

Nash, TX

Senior Master Sergeant Howard K. Waller, age 70, of Nash, Texas, passed away on March 15, 2026. Born on November 11, 1955, to Eugene M. and Delores Redden Waller, he served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force from February 11, 1976, to November 5, 2006, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He later worked as a locksmith at the Red River Army Depot until his second retirement.

From his teenage years, Howard found joy in rebuilding and restoring vintage cars and trucks, bringing them back to their original beauty and function. He had a deep passion for gardening and working with plants, and he took great pleasure in unlocking locks and safes, a skill that served him both professionally and as a cherished hobby. He loved riding back roads with his late father, camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and simply sitting on his porch overlooking his land. Above all, he treasured time with family and friends, always quick with a warm hug and a helping hand.

Howard was a devoted and caring man who supported his family, friends, neighbors, and community with quiet strength and generosity. He took immense pride in his military service and in being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. To his grandchildren he was simply the best pawpaw in the world, and to many others he was a personal hero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene M. Waller and Delores Redden Waller; brothers Mark Waller and Allen Waller; and nephew Allen Eugene Waller. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia Tyl Waller of Nash, Texas; children Bryan and Ashley Waller of Texarkana, Texas, Stefanie and Joel Williams of Savoy, Texas, Marissa and Bradley Goodwin of Nash, Texas, and Lance Braley of Nash, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Stephen and Ressa Waller of Texarkana, Texas; sister Nadine and Norman Taylor of Maud, Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews.
