Howard Joel Krasnow

1942 — 2026

Scottsdale, AZ

Howard Joel Krasnow passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, with his wife of 56 years, Diana, by his side. Born on May 6, 1942, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Phillip and Gertrude (Gershenowitz) Krasnow, he graduated from Weaver High School and the University of Connecticut. Howard began his career as an aerospace engineer with Pratt & Whitney in Florida, where he spent three years testing engines for the top-secret SR-71 spy plane. In 1967, he moved to Phoenix and joined Air Research, which later became Honeywell, where he worked for 34 years designing and testing commercial and military engines.

He was predeceased by his father, Phillip Krasnow, his mother, Gertrude (Krasnow) Stone, and her husband, Jack Stone, as well as his beloved son, Jeffrey Charles Krasnow, and his brother, Alan. Howard is survived by his loving wife, Diana (Cason) Krasnow, his daughter, Jami (Andy) Acker, his daughter-in-law, Stella Szymanski Myrick, and his five cherished grandchildren—Kimberly Krasnow, Kennen Krasnow, Griffin Krasnow, Melissa Acker, and Ryan Acker—who were the lights of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Krasnow of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, along with cousins, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and a great-nephew.

A man who shared his mother’s deep affection for children, Howard found great joy in teaching and spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
