Howard Glenn Reid Hall, Sr.
November 10, 1936— March 11, 2026
Rincon, GA
Howard Glenn Reid Hall, Sr. was born on November 10, 1936, in Allendale, South Carolina, the youngest child of Medicus Gray Hall and Vera Wasdin Hall. He attended school in Rincon before moving to Sylvania, where he graduated from Screven County High School in 1954. Shortly after graduation, he began his career with Southern Bell and served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1959. He returned to the Savannah area after his discharge, continued working for the phone company, and retired in 1996.
Howard was married to Linda Marie Kitchens of Savannah until her death in 2021. Together they had four children: Bonnie, Christy, who lived for only eleven and a half months, Glenn, and Kelly. He cherished gatherings with family and friends, often found near the grill or stove. An avid hunter and fisherman, he shared many outings with his three older brothers and a close circle of friends, leading several hunting clubs in Chatham and Effingham counties over the years. Known to many as The Shrimp Man, he took great pleasure in selling shrimp and the lasting friendships those encounters brought him.
In his final year, though his health declined and kept him from being out and about, Howard remained deeply touched by the steady stream of friends and family who visited him faithfully in the hospital and at home. A longtime member of New Life Worship Center in Rincon, Georgia, and an active member of CWA Local, he found his greatest joy in his faith. On March 11, 2026, at the age of 89, he passed away peacefully at Sprenger Health Care of Port Royal, South Carolina, and was welcomed into Heaven by his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his children Bonnie Pritcher (Jody), Glenn Hall (Shelley), and Kelly Horveath; grandchildren Whitney Figueroa, Gray Metz, Bailey Pritcher, Ashton Pritcher, Chancey Pritcher, Reid Hall, Adrian Hall, Amber Rippy, and Ty Horveath; great-grandchildren Haylie Pritcher, Hayden Hinely, Kaisyn Figueroa, Paisley Metz, Kathryn Figueroa, Sam Hall, Autumn Rippy, Marleigh Rippy, Ronnie Rippy, Kayla Rippy, and Caenan Horveath; and great-great-grandson Waylen Burns.
