Howard Arceneaux ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Broussard's Mortuary - Major Drive on Mar. 13, 2026.Howard Ervin Arceneaux entered his heavenly home on March 12, 2026. He was born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 7, 1948, to his parents, Frank Sterling "Blackie" Arceneaux and Evelyn Carson Arceneaux.Howard graduated from South Park High School in 1966 and then entered the Navy. He served in Vietnam as a lineman and was a proud United States Navy Seabee. His time in Vietnam brought many hardships. PTSD and Agent Orange were his kryptonite, and the exposure affected him until his last breath. However, he did not let that define him.Howard dedicated his working years to Goodyear Chemical, where he gained many friends whom he considered brothers. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors. Saltwater fishing for flounder and redfish was some of his favorite pastimes, along with shrimping with his dad and hunting. Among his harvests were a Boone and Crockett whitetail and a black bear using a compound bow.He loved mowing grass and would spend many hours making his acreage look like a golf course. In his retirement years, Howard enjoyed staying busy-whether it was cleaning up trees after Hurricane Rita with his son-in-law Justin, running a small grass-mowing business, sitting outside in his rocking chair watching the Purple Martins with a cup of coffee, feeding the ducks and fish in the pond, or riding the golf cart around with the grandkids. He was always busy and "piddling." His love language was helping others. If you needed anything, you could call Howard, and he would drop what he was doing to lend a helping hand. His loss is greatly felt, especially by his loving wife of 56 years, Charlotte Rose Arceneaux. He is also survived by his son, Justin Arceneaux and his wife, Donella; his daughter, Jolie Hartwick and her husband, Justin Shane; and his son, Frank Arceneaux and his wife, Tonya. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Delaney Rose Arceneaux, Zoey Marie Arceneaux, Kenly Jo Arceneaux, Colson Glen Burdick, Rowdy Shane Hartwick, and Rainy Jeaux Hartwick.Howard was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed in the faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carson; and his daughter, Courtney.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 2955 South Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77707; the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
