Howard Elwood Lukens, Jr., affectionately known as “Luke the Duke,” passed away at the age of 83 on March 13, 2026. Born on January 13, 1943, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, he was the cherished son of the late Howard Elwood Lukens, Sr. and Barbara Suzanne (Paster) Lukens. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemary V. Lukens.
A graduate of North Penn High School, class of 1961, Howard played in the band during his school years. He worked as a dedicated butcher for more than 40 years at Clemens Food Group. Known for his vibrant personality, he was a popular DJ in the North Penn area and later owned his own cleaning business. He found great joy in fishing, camping, going to the beach, playing softball, listening to music—especially Elvis—selling Miracle Maid cookware, attending carnivals, and watching fireworks.
He is survived by his three daughters, Deborah A. Linde (Douglas R. Linde, Sr.) of Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, Lisa C. Freer (Rich) of East Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Jennifer M. Roush of Punta Gorda, Florida; twelve grandchildren, Jenelle, David, Doug, Keith, Ryan, Jesse, Austin, Heather, John Jr., Sean, Danielle, and Joey; seventeen great-grandchildren, Joseph, Kyleigh, Carter, Ayden, Jeremy, Julianna, Blake, Colton, Guiliana, Grayson, Olivia, Grace, Westin, Reed, John III, and Lincoln; and his longtime companion, Ellie Ballentine.
