He was predeceased by: his parents, Barton H. Black and Lillian Millicent Black (Patmore); and his siblings, Paul Black, James Black, Robert Black, Eleanor McAllister and Carol Anthony.

He is survived by: his wife Bessie L. Black (Keister); and his sons, Paul Black (Sandy), Mervin Black (Patty) and Rusty Black (Missy). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Etzweiler Funeral Home - York (1111 E Market St, York, PA 17403). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:45 PM at the Mount Rose Cemetery (1502 Mt Rose Ave, York, PA 17403).
