Horace Leonard Lynch, son of the late Howard Lynch and Clarine Daniel Lynch, was born on March 31, 1949, in Halifax County, North Carolina. He passed away on March 10, 2026, at his home in Hollister. A longtime and faithful member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, Horace served as an usher for many years.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Lynch on April 30, 1971, and together they raised one daughter and one son. Horace was employed at the Haliwa Saponi Indian Charter School in Warren County, where he found deep fulfillment in his work and genuine affection for the staff and students.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wendell Hines and James Jerome Hines, and sisters Maeola Warner and Shirley V. Richardson.
Horace leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Ann Lynch; his daughter, Kristie Richardson (Hurley Jr.) of Hollister, North Carolina; his son, Quan Lynch (Nicole) of Bolton, North Carolina; grandchildren Cameron (Nya), Zachary, Cole, and Chelsea; great-grandchild Mowie; special mother-in-law Verty Lynch of Enfield, North Carolina; brothers Alfred Ray of Dale City, Virginia, and Curfort Morris (Hazel) of Hollister, North Carolina; aunts Yvonne Richardson of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and Faye Lynch (John) of Enfield, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
