After a courageous battle with cancer, the angels quietly came and carried Holly away. Holly was a life long resident of Rocky Hill and was preceded in death by her parents Gardiner and Bernice Maurice and her brother, radio and television host, Dick Maurice, of Las Vegas, NV.Holly leaves behind her partner and best friend, Thomas Ayres, Jr. and her extended family of loving felines, all of whom she rescued. Holly also leaves behind Don and Noreen Roberts of Florida, and numerous other relatives.Holly was a graduate of Rocky Hill High School, Class of 1979. She put her Bachelor of Science degree to good use as an Administrative Assistant to the Manager of the Town of Rocky Hill and the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Holly will be deeply missed by all the fortunate people, friends, and acquaintances who shared her world. Her positive attitude was enlightening and her smile and goodwill was infectious.We would like to thank Pastor Bob and the loving community of the Rocky Hill United Methodist Church and to all the people responsible for Holly's healthcare especially Dr. Patricia DeFusco, Oncology, and Joshua Croen of Hartford Hospital for their insight and compassion, and the nurses aides and staff at Apple Rehab in Cromwell for their love and care.Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday March 13, 2026 at 10:00am in the Rocky Hill United Methodist Church, 623 Old Main Street, Rocky Hill. All attendees are asked to go directly to church.
