Hershel Brent Stevens, born May 26, 1946, in the Jefferson TX, passed from this life to the next on March 8, 2026, at Rose Haven Retreat in Atlanta TX. He was 79 years old.

Hershel is preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Diane (Allborty) Stevens; parents Albert Stevens and Hattie Lane Stevens; sons Tommy Dale Glanton and Jimmy Harold Glanton; and brothers Robert Stevens and Carl Stevens.

He is survived by his son Ronnie Brant Stevens; daughters Danna Pearl Dixon of Gladewater TX, Rhonda Michelle Bolinger of Bloomburg TX, Kimberly Ann Bailey, and Sheena Marie Stevens of Gladewater TX; brother Oddis Stevens of Vivian LA; sister Kathy; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and dear friends.

Hershel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He carried with him a deep sense of duty, honor, and strength throughout his life. He valued the brotherhood, tradition, and principles of faith, integrity, and service. Whether in uniform, or on the job site working as a roughneck, he lived with purpose and commitment, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

A funeral service in Hershel's honor will be held at the Vivian United Pentecostal Church, in Vivian LA, on March 28, 2026, beginning at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Stevens Family Cemetery in Rodessa LA.

The family of Hershel Stevens respectfully asks that those who wish to honor his memory consider making a donation to help with the expenses of his funeral service.
