Hershel Patterson

Rochester: Passed away on March 12, 2026 at age 76. He was predeceased by parents, Hershel and Anna Mae Patterson; siblings, Michael, Jaqui and Mary Irene Patterson, nephew Mark Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Nora Patterson; son, Kareem Patterson (Christine Tam); grandchildren, Shelah Jackson, Tre Sullivan and Neveah Patterson; siblings, Vickki and Karen Patterson, nieces, Kim, Michelle (Penny), Wanda, Tara and Rachel Patterson; many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Hershel worked for many years at Eastman Kodak, Rochester Housing Authority and Asbury First Methodist Church where he made many lifelong friends. Hershel enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and was always making everyone laugh.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, March 23rd from 3-6 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY. This will be followed by his funeral service at the same location, beginning at 6:00 pm where friends and family will gather to celebrate the profound impact he had on all who knew him.

On Tuesday morning March 24, 2026, at 10am, family and friends may meet directly at Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036.
