Hershel L. Adams

Hershel L. Adams, age 84, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his residence. Born in Camilla, Georgia, on February 3, 1942, to Eugene and Mary Lee Adams, Hershel lived a life marked by service and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, later working with the DeKalb County Fire Department and retiring from the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Casey Adams.

Hershel is survived by his son, Rick Adams; daughters, Kim Smith and Susan Davis (Mike); five grandchildren, Krista Barrett, Michael Barrett (Julie), Kody Adams, Kole Adams (Brooke), and Casey Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Payton, Scott, Kaleb, Ryan, Jaynee, Michael Jr., and Alex; and two great-great-grandchildren, Colby and Ricky. He is also survived by his sisters, Sarah Connell and Genie Cumbie, along with several nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Hershel will remember a man who lived with quiet strength and deep commitment to his family and community. His presence brought steadiness and warmth to those closest to him, and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
