Heriberto "Eddie" Rodriguez

Heriberto "Eddie" Rodriguez, a longtime resident of Veguita, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 84. To those who knew him, Eddie was a true Jack of all trades who lived by the conviction that there was nothing he could not do. A man of deep Catholic faith and an optimistic spirit, he was known for his infectious laugh and his straightforward manner. He embraced his role as the undisputed head of his family with every word and action, approaching each day with remarkable energy.

Eddie found joy in both simple and spirited pursuits. He loved working in his yard, tending to his chickens, playing dominoes, singing, and dancing the night away to Spanish Cumbias and Rancheras. His passion for boxing and his legendary habit of keeping chocolate ready for his grandchildren brought him particular delight, as did family trips to the casino and gatherings with his large extended family.

He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Socorro Rodriguez; his son, Marco Antonio Rodriguez; his parents, Elizar and Albina; and his four siblings.

Eddie is survived by his children, Beto (Rita) Rodriguez, Sonia (Keith) Wright, Noelia Rodriguez, Debbie Rodriguez (Erik Ruiz), and Luis Rodriguez, along with 46 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered as a man who loved to work, loved to dance, and above all, loved his family.
